Dates: Mondays, 3/4-4/22
Times: 1 PM – 4 PM
Price: $380 (glaze, one bag of reclaimed clay, firing, instruction and drop-in open studio time included). Tools ($15 + tax for a toolkit) and additional clay ($10-$35 for a 20-25 lb bag) available for purchase at Clay Studio.
Description: In this eight-week course, students will learn the process of sculpting the human form from start to finish using a live model as reference. With the support of your experienced instructor, Daniel Landman, participants will expand their understanding of basic anatomy in the realm of sculptural ceramics and learn new techniques and tools to find their unique rhythm in the process. By the end of the course, students can expect to successfully render a three dimensional, anatomically accurate human figure out of clay.
The class will be held in the downstairs classroom and a nude model will be present. Students may not use their phones or take photos during the class. Students will not be allowed to trim or create new work during the last week as it is designated for glazing and wrapping up pieces. This course is suitable for all levels. Age 18+.
Drop-in Lab hours:
Students are welcome to come in during our open studio lab hours to work independently on Tuesdays 3 PM-8 PM and Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays 10 AM-4 PM. Please note that occasional workshops and events may be held during lab hours, in which case some wheels or tables may be occupied. Lab hours are subject to change depending on studio needs.
*In the case that a make-up class must be scheduled, the students will be notified and the class may be held on a different day of the week. A refund or credit will not be issued in the case that a student cannot attend the make-up class.
