Rescuing Pieces on the Wheel – Saturday Session

Dates: Saturday, July 8th, 2023

Time: 10am – 12pm

Price: $75 per person (clay and instruction included). Tools available for purchase at Clay Studio. 

Description: This Saturday Session will be hyper focused on the movement of throwing. Students will be encouraged to play around with rewinding some choices while the wheel is moving. Ashley will guide participants on how to rescue some common difficulties when throwing such as a floppy rim, a collapsed base, and a wobbly pull while highlighting ways to avoid these problems. The session will finish up with students experimenting with the way they position their hands when throwing, and altering the direction of the wheel, in a fun exploration of what it means to be successful with clay! Over the course of 2 hours you will join up to 7 other experienced potters in growing your pottery practice. Age 18+

Experience needed: Intro to Wheel Throwing, or equivalent experience, is required.
