Reimagining the Portrait in Sculpture – Monday Afternoons with Daniel Landman (6/5 – 7/10), 1:00 PM-4:00 PM

Dates: Mondays, June 5th – July 10th (6 weeks)

Times: 1:00PM – 4:00PM

Price: $380 (glaze, sculptural reclaimed clay, firing, instruction and drop-in open studio time included). Tools ($20 + tax) and additional clay ($15-$35 per 25 lb bag) available for purchase at Clay Studio.

Description: Students will learn how to realistically render the human head in clay, working from a live model with expert guidance from their instructor Daniel. Participants will experiment with hands-on techniques, and use the language of anatomy to develop the basic skill set needed to become an imaginative sculptor. All who join can expect to learn the rhythms of human portrait with guidance from an experienced and supportive instructor. Age 18+.

Recommended prerequisite classes: None needed

Drop-in open studio hours will be available for this course: Students are welcome to come in to Clay Studio during our Open Studio Lab hours to work independently on Sundays from 11AM-4PM, Mondays from 10AM-1PM, Tuesdays from 4PM-8PM, and Fridays from 10AM-1PM. Please note that Open Studio Lab hours are subject to change.
