
Glazing Workshop with Patrick Hall – Tuesday 4/12/22, 11am – 5pm

Price: $60 (glaze materials, tools and instruction included). Participants must bring bisqueware fired at Clay Studio and their own brushes for glazing.
Description: Glazing is an important step in the process of ceramics that can transform the look of your finished work. Learn more about different effects you can achieve through glaze with Clay Studio’s Executive Director and experienced potter, Patrick Hall. This workshop will cover a variety of glazing techniques such as pouring, dipping, and waxing. After the Glaze Demo, Patrick will be available to to assist with your glazing projects from 1:30-5:00 PM. Experiment with new methods and bring your work to the next level! This workshop is intended for makers who have their own bisque ware ready to glaze and are looking to learn a few new skills.
Instructor: Patrick Hall
About your instructor: Patrick Hall is an artist living in Santa Barbara, California. At age 14, he fell in love with clay and soon got a job as a production potter, where he honed his throwing skills for five years. After completing a BFA, then an MFA at UCSB, he founded Design Associates. His firm specialized in designing and building custom homes, furniture and light fixtures, and landscape design.
Nearly 30 years later, he returned to clay and founded Clay Studio, where he works, teaches and shares his appreciation for the ceramic arts with other artists in the community.
